What we do and what it costs:
GUITAR
- Re-string: condition fingerboard, lubricate gears, tuners, etc. – $15 + cost of strings. (*12-string guitar, $20 + cost of strings)
- Full set-up: condition fingerboard, lubricate gears, tuners, adjust truss rod and saddle height, set intonation, polish frets. Clean and check electronics (electric guitars) – $60 + cost of strings.
- Level Crown & Polish: level and dress all uneven frets. Also includes full set-up. – $100 + cost of strings
- Install bone nut: high quality, contoured by hand – $50 (does not include set-up)
- Install bone saddle: $45 (*for compensated saddle add $20)
BANJO
- Re-string: includes conditioning fingerboard, lubricating gears, tuners, etc. – $15 + cost of strings.
- Full set-up: condition fingerboard, lubricate gears, tuners, adjust truss rod and bridge height, tighten & tune head, set intonation, polish frets. – $60 + cost of strings.
- Replace head: $100 + cost of strings. (*skin head, $45/hr. + cost of head)
- Installing 5th string capo railroad spikes: $10 for the first spike, and $5 each thereafter.
MANDOLIN
- Re-string: includes conditioning fingerboard, lubricating gears, tuners, etc. – $20 + cost of strings.
- Full set-up: condition fingerboard, lubricate gears, tuners, adjust truss rod and bridge height, set intonation, polish frets. – $60 + cost of strings.
VIOLIN
- Re-string: includes conditioning fingerboard, inspect & fit pegs, etc. – $25 + cost of strings.
- Full set-up: condition fingerboard, inspect & fit pegs, set sound post & bridge . – $60 + cost of strings.
- Seam repair: $60-100 per bout
We’re happy to work on other instruments, (like dulcimers, upright basses, ukuleles, and the rest) as well. More intensive work, like neck sets; re-fret jobs; crack and finish repair; electronic and pickup work; is available at rates that range from $30-$60 hour depending on the complexity of the work.
